In partnership with MEAG ( Mullingar Employment Action Group) and Erasmus ( The EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe) we have embarked on the Eunoia project
The project is designed to forge sustainable links between organisations active in Mental Health, Education & Training, society at large (joined up thinking), to foster equality, non-discrimination, social inclusion and eliminate the stigma around the topic of mental health.
By mental health we do not mean “mental ill health”. We mean the mental health we all have, just as we all have physical health. The World Health Organisation defines good mental health as “A state of wellbeing in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.” The outcome of this project is to provide a ‘best practice’ solution to address, in a formal way, the system of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) in the workplace setting. The Eunoi solution complements and builds on existing ‘Best Practice’ management systems existing in every workplace in Europe and the internationally recognised MHFA. It provides employers/organisations the solution to address the mental health wellness of their employees, meeting their regulatory responsibilities and reaping the productivity benefits that come with a healthier workforce.
